The Confucius Temple Pool is located within Ninghai Hotel. In March 2000, it was designated as a county-level cultural heritage site.

The pool was originally part of the county’s Confucius Temple, situated to the south of the temple buildings. After the temple was no longer in existence, the site became Ninghai Hotel, leaving only this pool.

According to the Guangxu-era *Ninghai County Annals*, “The pool was dug during the Song Dynasty under the order of Magistrate Qian and was positioned in front of the Lingxing Gate.” Based on this, it can be inferred that the pool was built no later than the year 1140. The pool is semi-circular in shape, with a diameter of 22.5 meters. The surrounding stone pillars and railings were reconstructed in the early years of the Republic of China. Spanning the center of the pool from north to south is a three-arch stone bridge named “Yuan Bridge,” which is 14.7 meters long and 1.75 meters wide.
