Zhenning Shrine

Zhenning Shrine is a cultural relic protection unit of Ninghai County.

Zhenning Shrine is located at the entrance of Xiaru’ao Village, with a small hill not far to its north. In front of the shrine lies a rural path that runs east to west, leading directly into the village.

Zhenning Shrine was built in the Dingyou year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty. Its layout along the central axis includes a screen wall, gateway, stage, inner courtyard, and main hall. The main hall covers a construction area of 35 square meters and features distinct characteristics of its time, with the year of construction inscribed on the ridge beam, reading “The Great Qing Kangxi Year, Dingyou, leap month, Gengxu, propitious day, Chu.”

Zhenning Shrine is delicate and ingeniously designed, representing a fine example of ancient architecture.

It was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit by the People’s Government of Ninghai County on February 24, 2003.
