The Main Building of the British Country Club

The Main Building of the British Country Club is located at No. 188 Machang Road, Hexi District, Tianjin. Built in 1925, it was designed and constructed by the British. The main building is a three-story brick-and-wood structure in a simplified classical architectural style. Its walls are made of red bricks, with square pilasters and brick square pillars supporting the veranda, which features balconies with iron railings. The interior showcases exquisite craftsmanship and is fully equipped with facilities, including a restaurant, tea room, billiard room, swimming pool, and a grand ballroom with a sprung floor. The grounds feature tennis courts, an outdoor roller-skating rink, a large theater, and a restaurant. The inner courtyard houses the Yanyuan Garden, a classical-style garden architecture. It now serves as the Tianjin Cadres' Club.
