The "Zeng Clan Ancestral Hall" is located on the old street of Gaofu Village, Gaofu Town, Zixi County. Constructed in the 3rd year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1738 AD), it serves as a branch ancestral hall for Zeng Wending (Zeng Gong). Zeng Gong (1019–1083), courtesy name Ziguo, was a prose writer and literary figure of the Northern Song Dynasty, and one of the “Eight Great Prose Masters of the Tang and Song.” He was from Nanfeng, Jianchang, and was posthumously honored as "Wending" during the reign of Emperor Lizong. His descendants migrated to this area and built this branch ancestral hall, which serves as a site for enshrining ancestral spirit tablets and conducting ancestor worship ceremonies. Having stood for over 270 years, it remains relatively well-preserved to this day.

The ancestral hall is 31 meters wide and 34 meters deep, divided into upper, middle, and lower halls with two interior courtyards. The middle and rear halls have seven bays each. Covering an area of 1,054 square meters, it features a brick-and-wood structure and faces south. The wooden boards in the side rooms of the ancestral hall are largely damaged, though 146 wooden pillars remain, most of which have a diameter of 45 centimeters. The roof corners and eaves of the ancestral hall are adorned with carved decorations of animals and flowers, featuring vermilion paint and colorful designs. The front wall of the hall stands 8 meters high and is divided into three gates—left, middle, and right. The central gate is square-shaped, while the two side gates are arched. Above the central gate is a wooden plaque inscribed with four large characters: “Zeng Clan Ancestral Hall.” Below these characters are four protruding tenons, with three tenons above each of the side gates, totaling ten tenons. The scale and craftsmanship of the ancestral hall are rare within the province. It was newly discovered during the third national cultural relics census in 2009.

Zeng Gong (1019–1083), courtesy name Ziguo, was of Han ethnicity and originally from Nanfeng in Jianchang Commandery (present-day Nanfeng County, Jiangxi Province), later residing in Linchuan. He was a prose writer, historian, and statesman of the Northern Song Dynasty. Zeng Gong came from a family with a strong Confucian scholarly background—his grandfather Zeng Zhiyao and father Zeng Yizhan were both prominent officials of the Northern Song. Gifted and possessing an extraordinary memory from a young age, Zeng Gong could recite poetry upon reading and began composing essays at the age of twelve. In the 2nd year of the Xining reign (1069), he served as a reviser for the Veritable Records of Emperor Song Zhenzong and was soon appointed as a prefectural judge in Yue Prefecture. He passed away in 1082 in Jiangning Prefecture (present-day Nanjing, Jiangsu), and was posthumously honored as "Wen…… More detailed information on Zeng Gong++
