Shanglianggang Scenic Area

Shanglianggang Scenic Area is located in the heart of Siming Mountain in eastern Zhejiang, in the northern part of Xikou National Key Scenic Area. It covers a total area of 13,379 mu (approximately 891 hectares) and is 16 kilometers from Xikou Town, the former residence of the Chiang family, and 7 kilometers from Xuedou Temple.

The scenic area boasts a forest coverage rate of up to 90%, hence earning the title “— of Eastern Zhejiang.” Its main peak rises to an altitude of 1,035 meters, and the summer temperature rarely exceeds 28 degrees Celsius, earning it the reputation of a “summer resort and cool paradise.” In the winter of 1935, Mr. Chiang Kai-shek and his entourage climbed Shanglianggang with the intention of developing it into a “Second Lushan Mountain.” Historical traces from that time can still be found today.

The scenic area consists of 20 attractions, including the Chiangs’ Summer Villa, the Army Officer School, the Shanglianggang History Exhibition Area, the Forest Waterfall Plaza, the Adventure Base, Forest Climbing, Natural Rock Climbing, the Primitive Hunting Ground, the Fishing Park, the Forest Oxygen Bar, log cabins, the Health Trail Resort, the Senior Leisure Area, the Three Lakes Scenic Area, and the Immortal Bridge. These are divided into four tour routes: the Chiang & Soong Historical Exploration Tour, the Moonlight Cabin Leisure Tour, the Adventure & Fitness Wonderland Tour, and the Forest Hunting Fun Tour.
