Siming Lake
Located in Liangnong Town, Yuyao City, in the northern part of Siming Mountain, about 10 kilometers from the city center, Siming Lake boasts picturesque scenery with crystal-clear waves. The lake and surrounding mountains complement each other beautifully, covering a surface area of nearly 20 square kilometers.
Siming Lake gathers streams, springs, and waterfalls, with a water storage capacity of about 120 million cubic meters. It irrigates 300,000 acres of fertile farmland in northwestern Yuyao, and the lake is also rich in fishery resources, attracting a large number of birds. The lake features landmarks such as Bagua Bridge, Wildcat Bay, and Dingshan, forming five lake islets that resemble emeralds inlaid in a mirror, adding to the charm of Siming Lake.
The Jade Rabbit Island in the center of the lake is the largest island in Siming Lake, covering an area of about 270 acres. Its shape closely resembles a jade rabbit, especially striking on moonlit nights when viewed from the lakeshore, looking as if the rabbit is bowing to the moon. The island is covered with lush pines and bamboos, as well as orchards and tea plantations scattered across the hills. Winding mountain paths invite leisurely strolls through the serene and rustic landscape, offering a truly refreshing experience. Jade Rabbit Island now hosts the Siming Lake Resort, which has become a popular leisure destination in eastern Zhejiang. The lake area also features other scenic spots such as the Wuguilou, the second-largest ancient library in eastern Zhejiang, and Baishuichong.
Nowadays, Siming Lake is being rapidly developed into a top destination for tourism, vacation, and convalescence.
