Beixi Village -- Water Margin Style Folk Farmstay

Beixi Village is located in Siming Mountain Town, Yuyao City, in the heart of Siming Mountain, boasting a sound ecological environment and rich vegetation. The village has 332 households and a population of over 950, with nearly all families surnamed Lu except for two. Historical records from the Qing Dynasty’s *Genealogy of the Lu Clan* indicate that over 600 years ago, their ancestors lived in Qingzhou Prefecture, Fanyang County, Shandong Province, and were very likely descendants of Lu Junyi from the classic novel *Water Margin*. Leveraging this heritage, the village has developed a series of Water Margin-themed farmstays, characterized by “drinking from big bowls and eating generous portions of meat.” All participating farmstay operators have hung signs with a distinct “Water Margin” flair. The village now features establishments named after key locations from the novel, such as the “Jingyang Ridge” shop, the “Gathering Hall” shop, the “Clear Wind Stockade” shop, the “Xunyang Tower” shop, and the “Happy Forest” shop. In its village planning, Beixi has incorporated a spatial design inspired by the world of *Water Margin*, while also making full use of historical relics such as the “Lu Clan Ancestral Hall” and the “Prefect’s Mansion” to recreate various “Water Margin”-themed living scenes, further promoting the “Beixi Folk Custom Village” brand.
