Lizhou Village is located in Siming Mountain Town at the southernmost tip of Yuyao City, serving as the town center and enjoying the highest popularity. Nestled in the heart of Siming Mountain, it boasts beautiful scenery and simple, rustic charm. This place once inspired passionate verses from poets such as Li Bai, Meng Jiao, Pi Rixiu, and Lu Guimeng, leaving behind many immortal works for the splendid poetry of the Tang Dynasty. It also became an ideal place for the great late Ming and early Qing philosopher Huang Zongxi to write and develop his theories. Within Lizhou Village, there are numerous attractions such as the Huang Lizhou Memorial Hall, Zhendong Bridge, and Yanxia Mountain. Vast expanses of red maples and cherry blossoms create picturesque views, while the town streets offer distinctive charm. It is a rural tourism village that combines sightseeing, travel, and cultural experiences.

Lizhou Village is located in the town center, serving as the location of the town government. The Village Committee is based in Siqian. There are two accounts regarding the origin of the village’s name: one says that Huang Zongxi, the renowned late Ming and early Qing philosopher, once set up strongholds in Siming Mountain to resist the Qing forces and gave lectures on Zhendong Bridge. Huang referred to himself as the “Old Man of Lizhou,” hence the village was named after him. Another account, according to the Records of Siming Mountain, states: “During the Jin Dynasty, Sun Xinggong and his elder brother Chenggong traveled here together and found several pears with no sign of human presence, suspecting they were left by immortals.
