Located in Dalan Village, Dalan Town, it consists of two springs, one in front of the other. No matter how dry the weather or how cold the ground, the spring water flows year-round without ceasing. Above it stands a stone tablet engraved with the bold regular-script characters “Yu Yao River’s True Source.” About 30 meters to the west, there is an inscription reading “Source of the Yao River, Youth Forest” written by the then Standing Committee Member of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Ningbo Municipal Party Committee. In 1990, the Yuyao Municipal Government organized a river source exploration team. After three years and four on-site investigations and measurements, a report was submitted. On March 3, 1993, the conclusion was confirmed by the Zhejiang Provincial Expert Review Committee: the source of the Yuyao River is at the eastern slope of Zuimian’gangtou in Dalan Village, Dalan Town.
