The Jiugangling Kiln Site is located in a mountain valley in the northern part of Huang Lake. The Jiugangling Kiln Site is located in a mountain valley in the northern part of Huang Lake. Its location allowed for east-west water and land transport, while the surrounding mountains to the north and south provided ample raw materials and fuel for ceramic production. Within the site, there is a layer of accumulated ceramic fragments measuring 20 meters in length and 4 meters in width, though the thickness of the layer is unclear. To the west of the waste accumulation layer lies a gentle slope over 1 meter high, with dark red soil that gradually blends into the mountain terrain from south to north.

The decorative patterns on the Jiugangling ceramic fragments bear a striking resemblance to those of stamped hard pottery from the Warring States period, while the designs on the vessel handles exhibit characteristics of the Han Dynasty. This aligns with a large number of Han Dynasty porcelain artifacts unearthed from tombs. The products are large in size, short and stout, with thick bodies, indicating that this kiln likely dates back to the Eastern Han Dynasty.

Kiln sites from the Eastern Han Dynasty are the earliest discovered so far in our city, and this is the only one found to date.

The Jiugangling Kiln, with its inheritance of traditional decorative patterns from stamped hard pottery and a major leap from pottery to porcelain, provides tangible evidence for understanding the origins, evolution, and development of ceramic craftsmanship.

In October 1987, the Jiugangling Kiln Site was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage preservation unit.
