The former site of the headquarters of the New Fourth Army’s Eastern Zhejiang Guerrilla Detachment is located at “Xiaoyuanhe,” Xiaoling Street, Liangnong Town, Yuyao City. During the Anti-Japanese War, this was the military command center of the New Fourth Army’s Eastern Zhejiang Guerrilla Detachment and the Eastern Zhejiang Revolutionary Base Area. It is now a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit in Yuyao and a municipal-level patriotic education base in Ningbo. The original site has been developed into an exhibition room displaying historical materials of the New Fourth Army’s Eastern Zhejiang Detachment.

The former site of the headquarters of the New Fourth Army’s Eastern Zhejiang Guerrilla Detachment is a well-preserved Qing Dynasty-style quadrangle courtyard residence that also features distinctive local architectural characteristics. Facing south, it consists of two sections: the front section is a row of single-story buildings, while the rear section is a two-story building with double eaves and a hip-and-gable roof. On either side are wing rooms, and the central area is a flagstone-paved courtyard. The entire structure is elegant and serene, with a solemn and dignified atmosphere. Many elements showcase ingenious design, reflecting a high level of architectural artistry.

To commemorate the immortal achievements of the New Fourth Army guerrilla detachment in resisting the enemy and fighting bravely, to educate future generations, and to promote the glorious revolutionary tradition, on the eve of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the East China District Party Committee and the founding of the Eastern Zhejiang Anti-Japanese Base Area (1991), the municipal government allocated special funds to renovate the former headquarters site. The ground floor of the rear section was then arranged as an exhibition room for historical materials of the New Fourth Army’s Eastern Zhejiang Guerrilla Detachment. The exhibition area covers 204 square meters, with an exhibit line stretching approximately 100 meters. Over 140 precious historical photos, photocopies, reprints, charts, and paintings reflecting the activities of the New Fourth Army’s Eastern Zhejiang Detachment during the Anti-Japanese War are displayed, along with more than 50 physical objects. Comrade Tan Qilong specially inscribed the name “Exhibition Room of Historical Materials of the New Fourth Army’s Eastern Zhejiang Guerrilla Detachment.” The exhibition was officially opened to the public in July of the same year.

On October 16, 1987, this former site was designated as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit by the Yuyao Municipal People’s Government.
