Shanchao Temple
Shanchao Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.
Yuyao’s Shanchao Temple is located in Nanlei Village, Lubu Town. Originally built during the Ming Dynasty, it was once a place where the eminent statesman Xie Qian of the Ming Dynasty studied. The temple also hosted visits and lectures by prominent figures such as Wang Yangming and Huang Lizhou. It was rebuilt in the 10th year of the Tongzhi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1871). The current layout includes an entrance hall, two side wings, a stage, the main hall, and a lotus pond (Shanchao Pond) in front of the entrance hall. The layout remains intact and the architectural style is still appreciable. In December 1998, it was designated as a Yuyao Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Site.
