Former Residence of Tan Qilong
The former residence of Tan Qilong was the dwelling where he lived after arriving at Hengkantou Village in 1943. It mainly served as the living quarters for Tan Qilong and his wife, Yan Yongjie, and their second son was born here. The residence covers a construction area of 180 square meters and is a two-story wooden building with three bays on each floor, with a total area of approximately 280 square meters. Its architectural style is also quite common in eastern Zhejiang. The restoration of the building was designed and carried out according to the principle of “restoring the old as it was.” The exhibits are based on historical facts, and the display methods aim to be poetic and vivid, making the exhibition both authentic and engaging. It opened to the public on April 26, 2013.
Hengkantou Village: Hengkantou Village is located in the southwestern part of Yuyao City, at the southern end of Liangnong Town, adjacent to Provincial Highway Huxi Line. It is 2 kilometers from Liangnong Town, 25 kilometers from downtown Yuyao, and 48 kilometers from downtown Ningbo. The village houses the former sites of the East Zhejiang District Party Committee, the East Zhejiang Administrative Office, the East Zhejiang Anti-Japanese Military and Political Cadre School, the East Zhejiang Bank, and the East Zhejiang Newspaper Office, and is known as the “Red Village of East Zhejiang.” The village covers an area of 6.6 square kilometers, comprises six natural villages, has a population of 2,509, currently includes 871 farming households, encompasses 1,003 acres of arable land, and 5,985 acres of forested land.
