Shiwang Temple and Changming Mountain Ancient Quarry Site

Located in Dayin Village, Dayin Town, the site was built by local stonemasons to worship the mountain deity Xiugong. It was initially constructed during the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. The complex includes a mountain gate, front hall, main hall, and shops, characterized by a sophisticated structure, fine carvings, and a largely intact layout. It functioned as a venue for worship, discussions, and business among the stoneworkers of Dayin. The nearby Changming Mountain quarry has been in operation since the Ming Dynasty, stretching approximately two kilometers from east to west, and still preserves historical relics of quarrying activities through the ages. Shiwang Temple and Changming Mountain Ancient Quarry Site bear witness to the long-standing stoneworking culture of Dayin and are rich in humanistic significance. On April 26, 2010, the site was designated as part of the fifth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units in Yuyao City.

Dayin Town: Situated at the border between Yuyao and Yinzhou, Dayin Town is bordered by Qiyang to the east, Cheju to the west, Siming Mountain to the south, and the Shun River to the north. It faces the Hemudu Site across the river, lies 17 kilometers from downtown Ningbo and 34 kilometers from Yuyao. The Yao River flows beside the town, and the provincial highway Yongliang Line runs through it. The Hangzhou–Ningbo Expressway has an interchange in Dayin, which is also 20 kilometers from Ningbo Airport and about 27 kilometers from Beilun Port, offering very convenient transportation.
