Chengzhi Manor is a Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Located on Wang’an Road, Xidajie Community, Simen Town, it was built in the late Qing Dynasty. Facing south, the manor complex consists of an entrance hall, ceremonial gate, main building, rear wing, as well as east and west side rooms and auxiliary buildings. It is relatively large in scale and features an intact layout. The residence belonged to Xie Jing, a local landlord leader in Simen who suppressed the Shiyiju Uprising of the Taiping Rebellion in Yuyao. It is one of the few remaining landlord manors in Zhejiang Province. On April 26, 2010, Chengzhi Manor was announced as part of the fifth batch of municipal-level cultural relics protection units in Yuyao City.

Simen Town: [Geographical Features] Simen Town is situated in the northwest of the city, 23 kilometers from downtown. In ancient times, it was also known as Simen or the Fourth Gate. The southwestern part of the region once had the Ruchou Lake, covering an area of 100,000 mu. To facilitate water release for irrigation, four gates were opened on the eastern embankment of Ruchou Lake. Since “four waters” is pronounced as “Si,” the place came to be called Simen. The town covers an area of 66.3 square kilometers, bordering Xiaocao’e Town and Langxia Subdistrict to the east, Mazhu Town to the south, Linshan Town to the west, and facing Hangzhou Bay to the north, across which lies Haiyan County.
