The Zhou Family Courtyard Gate faces south and has a traditional three-sided courtyard structure. The main building and the side wings enclose a ten-meter square courtyard. To the south is a screen wall, beside which stands a gatehouse. The Zhou Family Courtyard Gate retains a complete layout and is well-preserved. It follows a traditional Chinese floor plan but features decorative elements that show Western influence, making it an important representative of residential architecture shaped by Shanghai-style culture.

On September 23, 2014, the Yuyao Municipal People's Government designated it as part of the sixth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units.
