The former site of Hui’ai Hospital in Yuyao is located on Yangming East Road, Fengshan Community, Fengshan Subdistrict, Yuyao City. Hui’ai Hospital was initiated by the Ningbo-Shaoxing District of the China Christian Council, funded by American church members, and officially established in March 1914 (the 3rd year of the Republic of China). The hospital covered an area of 9 mu, with four Western-style buildings, of which only one ward building remains.

The ward building faces south and is built with a brick-and-mud composite structure, featuring a two-story Western-style house. The southern side has three bays with thick square pillars. The corridor is fitted with arched doorways, and the central bay is separated from the western side bay by a solid wall. The eastern side has three bays with damaged doors and windows, and the corridor is paved with stone slabs. The entire Western-style building is shaped like a half “protruding” character.

The ward building of the former site of Hui’ai Hospital in Yuyao is relatively well-preserved. It is one of the few remaining mission hospitals in Yuyao and holds certain historical, artistic, and scientific value.

On September 23, 2014, the Yuyao Municipal People’s Government announced it as part of the sixth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units.

The subdistrict currently hosts nearly 4,000 industrial and trade enterprises, including more than 1,000 industrial enterprises. Industries such as plastics, molds, electromechanical equipment, and hardware are clustered here. There are 50 foreign-invested enterprises, forming a well-developed pattern of “three external linkages” involving foreign capital, foreign trade, and foreign economic cooperation. The area is home to the “China Plastics City,” “China Light Industry (Yuyao) Mould City,” “Yuyao Hardware…” More details about Fengshan Subdistrict++
