Yongxing Temple is located in Shimen Village, Lubu Town, Yuyao City. Built during the Qing Dynasty, it enshrines Yu Shinan, a renowned statesman and master calligrapher of the Tang Dynasty.

Yu Shinan (558–638), courtesy name Boshī, was a native of Yuyao. From a young age, he harbored lofty aspirations and excelled in his studies. Serving through the Chen and Tang dynasties, he held official posts across four successive regimes. During the reign of Emperor Taizong of Tang, Yu Shinan was appointed as a Compilation Official and concurrently served as a Scholar of the Hongwen Pavilion, later promoted to Secretary Supervisor and granted the title “Lord of Yongxing County,” hence his alternate name “Yu Yongxing.” He was known for his integrity in office, principled opinions, and courage to remonstrate candidly with the emperor. Emperor Taizong once praised him for excelling in “moral conduct, loyalty and uprightness, erudition, literary talent, and calligraphy,” stating that “if all officials were like Yu Shinan, why worry about the governance of the realm?” After his death, he was buried near the Zhaoling Mausoleum and posthumously honored with the title “Wenyi.”

Yongxing Temple consists of a front hall and a rear hall, each with five bays, flanked by side rooms. The central bay of the front hall houses a stage. The bracket arms (ni’tdié) and other carvings are exquisitely crafted.

This temple is the only ancient commemorative structure related to Yu Shinan in Yuyao.

On September 23, 2014, the Yuyao Municipal People's Government designated it as part of the sixth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units.
