Hanlin Chamber

The Hanlin Chamber is a cultural relic protection unit of Yuyao City.

The Hanlin Chamber is located at Nos. 48, 49, 50, 51, 53, 54, 55, and 66, Guanjia Lane, Yangming Community, Yangming Subdistrict, Yuyao City. It faces south and is aligned along a central axis from south to north, comprising in sequence: the entrance hall, the main hall, the main building, and the rear building.

The entrance hall spans thirteen bays, though the western three bays no longer exist. The main hall is five bays wide, with overhanging eaves both in the front and rear. The main building also spans five bays, with overhanging eaves both in the front and rear.

On both the east and west sides of the residence, there are wing rooms or side buildings that are closely connected from south to north. Aside from three single-story rooms on each side of the courtyard of the main hall, the rest are all wing rooms. These are now heavily damaged, with some sections missing and significant alterations made to their facades.

The entire structure uses relatively large construction materials and features a simple design, making it a rare example of Ming Dynasty architecture within Yuyao City.

On September 23, 2014, the Yuyao Municipal People's Government designated it as a Cultural Relic Protection Unit in the sixth batch of city-level listings.
