Former Residence of Yang Guanghui
The former residence of Yang Guanghui is a cultural relics protection unit of Huzhou City.
The former residence of Yang Guanghui is located on Beiqiaobang in Linghu Town, Nanxun District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It dates back to the modern era and is categorized as an important modern historical site and representative architecture.
In January 2003, the former residence of Yang Guanghui was designated as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit.
Yang Guanghui (1900–1942) was from Linghu, Wuxing (now Huzhou). At the age of 16, he was admitted to the Advanced Class of Tsinghua College. In 1920, he was sent to study in the United States by Tsinghua College, attending the University of Colorado and Princeton University successively, where he earned bachelor's and master's degrees. In 1924, he obtained a Ph.D. in International Public Law and Philosophy. While in the U.S., he served as Third Secretary at the Chinese Embassy in the United States, Editor-in-Chief of the Chinese Students’ Monthly, President of the Chinese Students’ Federation in the Eastern United States, Professor of Chinese at Georgetown University, and Lecturer in Far Eastern History at American University in Washington. Since last winter, the town’s Party committee and government have focused on increasing agricultural efficiency and farmers’ income, placing strong emphasis on the construction of sericulture zones.
