Recently, the Nanyang Garden Metropolis Hotel was awarded the "Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel" plaque by the "National Tourism Star-Rated Hotel Evaluation Committee," making it the first hotel in Huzhou’s Nanxun District to receive this green distinction. It is understood that the hotel is seamlessly integrated with planned high-end residential areas, premium business facilities, international conferences, eco-tourism and leisure, sports tourism, and supporting commercial developments. Leveraging the globally recognized "Nanxun Ancient Town"—a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, National 5A-level Scenic Spot, China’s Historic and Cultural Ancient Town, and one of China’s Top Ten Charming Towns—the hotel complex is part of the new Huangpu-Nanxun International Tourism Resort Eco-Tourism Complex.

On March 21, the Nanyang Garden Metropolis Hotel held a solemn and vibrant unveiling ceremony for its Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel status. Government leaders in attendance included Yao Changxi, Standing Deputy District Chief of Nanxun District; Wu Yi, Deputy Director of the Huzhou Municipal Tourism Commission; Xu Yong, Head of the Travel Management Division at the Huzhou Tourism Commission; and Qiu Jianmin, Deputy Director of the Nanxun District Tourism Bureau. Executives from the hotel’s parent companies also attended, including Lu Quefei, Executive Director and General Manager of Shanghai New Huangpu Real Estate Co., Ltd.; Chen Lisha, General Manager of Shanghai Boda Investment Development Co., Ltd.; Zhu Jianyong, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai New Huangpu Real Estate Co., Ltd. and Chairman of New Huangpu (Zhejiang) Investment Development Co., Ltd.; and Li Hongyan, General Manager of New Huangpu (Zhejiang) Investment Development Co., Ltd. and Chairman of Nanyang Garden Metropolis Hotel. Together, they witnessed this significant milestone. Yang Weidong, Deputy Party Secretary and District Chief of Nanxun District, made a special appearance at the celebration event.
The unveiling ceremony specially invited Miss Chinese International Champion and TVB International Chinese Pageant winner, Li Siyu, as the guest of honor and master of ceremonies.
During the unveiling ceremony of the Nanyang Garden Metropolis Hotel's Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel status, Yao Changxi, Standing Deputy District Chief of Nanxun District, and Wu Yi, Deputy Director of the Huzhou Tourism Commission, delivered speeches commending the hotel’s achievements and honors, while also expressing their hopes for its future development.
Mr. Li Hongyan, General Manager of New Huangpu (Zhejiang) Investment Development Co., Ltd. and Chairman of Nanyang Garden Metropolis Hotel, stated, "We express our heartfelt gratitude for the strong support given to the hotel by the provincial, municipal, and district tourism bureaus, and we commend the hotel’s management team. In the future, the hotel will continue to implement the 'Five Major Development Concepts' of 'Innovation, Coordination, Green, Openness, and Sharing' outlined in the 'Proposal of the CPC Central Committee on Formulating the 13th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development.' We are committed to building an environmentally friendly green hotel, setting a new benchmark for the industry. At the same time, we aim to support Huzhou’s goal of establishing an ecological city, align with Nanxun District’s green consumption philosophy, actively promote energy conservation and emission reduction projects, integrate energy management and the creation of a 'Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel' into our daily operations, and hope to convey green values to more guests, making our due contribution to society."
The Green Tourism Hotel standard (LB/T 007-2015) implemented by the National Tourism Administration in February 2016 classifies green tourism hotels into two levels: "Golden Leaf" and "Silver Leaf." The standard encourages hotels to adopt sustainability principles, maintain clean production, uphold service quality, promote green consumption, use resources rationally, protect the ecological environment, and shoulder social and environmental responsibilities.
The "Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel" is the highest tier in China’s national green tourism hotel rating system. It imposes rigorous requirements in essential areas such as management structure, zoned water-electricity-gas metering, dust removal equipment, sewage treatment, and air quality. Achieving this certification is extremely challenging. After a year of preparation, application, and evaluation, and under the guidance and support of provincial, municipal, and district tourism authorities, the Nanyang Garden Metropolis Hotel underwent on-site inspections and assessments by experts organized by the Zhejiang Hotel Industry Association. Experts reviewed the hotel’s green initiatives, systems, documentation, and conducted field evaluations across various hotel areas. Their affirmation of the hotel’s efforts led to its approval by the National Tourism Administration’s Green Tourism Hotel review process, earning it the "Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel" title. This makes the Nanyang Garden Metropolis Hotel the first in Nanxun District, Huzhou, to receive this honor, signifying that the hotel meets the national tourism administration’s green and environmental standards in both services and facilities, establishing it as a leader in the green hospitality sector.
Participating experts noted that the Nanyang Garden Metropolis Hotel’s achievement of the "Golden Leaf Green Tourism Hotel" title supports the three-year plan for the protection and utilization of Nanxun Ancient Town, promotes the advancement of the tourism industry, facilitates the overall organic renewal of the ancient town, and contributes to creating a world-class tourism resort destination, an internationally renowned historic town leisure residence area, and a classic model for urban revival through historic preservation.
