Chongren Ancient Town (Chongren Millennium Ancient Town)
Chongren Ancient Town (Chongren Millennium Ancient Town) is a national AA-level tourist attraction.
Chongren is a beautiful and tranquil ancient town in the Jiangnan region. It still retains an extensive complex of ancient architecture. Despite having endured a thousand years, its charm remains intact. The ancient buildings are clustered together in large groups, featuring architectural styles reminiscent of the Song Dynasty and characteristics of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The area is fully equipped with temples, ancestral halls, ancient stages, historic residences, memorial archways, traditional pharmacies, shops, bridges, ponds, and wells. Centered around the Yushan Ancestral Hall, there are over a hundred well-preserved old gateways (taimen), interconnected by covered walkways that span the streets. These structures are both harmoniously integrated and individually distinctive, reflecting the ancestors’ tradition of "dividing households yet uniting the clan, gathering as one family."
