Jinting Temple
Jinting Temple is located on Waterfall Mountain in Jinting Township, over 20 kilometers east of Shengzhou City. Legend has it that Jinting was where Wang Xizhi, the Sage of Calligraphy, spent his later years in retreat and was buried at the foot of the waterfall mountain in Jinting Township. According to the *Shan Lu*, “The tomb of Lord Wang Youjun lies fifty li to the east of the county in Xiaojia Township.” The current tomb was renovated in 1984, facing south, circular in shape, built with blue flagstones, and paved with a bluestone platform in front. In the center stands a stone stele inscribed with “Tomb of Lord Wang Youjun of the Jin Dynasty,” covered by a square stone pavilion with a single-eave hip-and-gable roof. The site features ancient cypresses shading the grounds, waterfalls cascading into pools, verdant mountains all around, and winding streams—offering breathtaking scenery. It is a provincial-level cultural heritage protection unit.
