Yongjia Dragon Waterfall Cave

The Dragon Waterfall Cave is situated in Aodi Village, Yantou Town, Yongjia County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, and is one of the major scenic spots in the Nanxi River National Scenic Area. The cave features majestic green peaks, strikingly unusual rocks, deep ancient caverns, plunging mountain streams and waterfalls, tranquil surroundings, and beautiful scenery—making it a genuine blessed land of wonder. Historically, such blessed lands have always been the sites of Taoist temples, and the Dragon Waterfall Cave is no exception. Within its religious zone lies the “Southern Zhejiang Dragon Waterfall Cave Heaven,” also known as the “Yantou Dragon Waterfall Cave Heaven,” which is a registered Taoist activity site under the Religious Affairs Bureau.

The scenic area spans 10 square kilometers and is located 3 kilometers from the Lion Rock attraction. The main features of the scenic area include the Water Curtain Cave, Dragon Palace, Flying Dragon Waterfall, Heavenly Lake, and Viewing Pavilion. With its towering green peaks, rugged stones, mysterious caves, cascading streams and waterfalls, peaceful environment, and beautiful scenery, it serves as an ideal destination for summer retreats and sightseeing.

The landscape boasts eight wonders: First, the Hanging Cave; Second, the Waterfall Hanging at the Cave Entrance; Third, the In-Cave Tunnel where Boating is Possible; Fourth, the Stone Stairs in the Tunnel; Fifth, the Dragon Chanting Pool with an Underwater Dragon Palace beneath the Pavilion Floor; Sixth, the Cliffside Plank Walk and Corridor; Seventh, the Three Pools (Heavenly Pool, Dragon Pool, and Fishing Pool), Three Waterfalls (Upper, Middle, and Lower Waterfalls), Three Pools (Silk Thread Pool, Cliff Pool, and Dragon Chanting Pool), Four Pavilions (Flying Dragon Pavilion, Peach Blossom Source Pavilion, Soaring Cloud Pavilion, and Dragon Palace Pavilion); and Eighth, the Six Caves (Water Curtain Cave, Dragon Maiden Cave, Jade Cooking Cave, Sunset Sipping Cave, Coiling Dragon Cave, and Soaring Phoenix Cave). Among these, the Water Curtain Cave is located right in the middle of a cliff over 100 meters high, where a white waterfall over 90 meters long cascades down from the center of the cave entrance, flowing abundantly all year round.

Take a minibus bound for Yantou from Ou’bei. The fare is 11 yuan, and the journey takes just over an hour.
