Longwan Pool National Forest Park is a national-level forest park.

Longwan Pool National Forest Park is located in the southeastern part of Yongjia County, Zhejiang Province, upstream of the national scenic area — Nanxi River Scenic Area. It is 70 kilometers from downtown Wenzhou. The planned total area of the forest park is 1,650.8 hectares (mu), with a forest coverage rate of 95.2%. The average elevation within the park is 540 meters, and the climate is warm and humid, with no intense heat in summer or severe cold in winter. The annual average temperature is 18.2°C.

Lush forests and bamboo groves make the park evergreen all year round. There are 162 families and 1,014 species of vascular plants. The organic combination of natural vegetation has created a favorable ecological environment where numerous rare birds and animals thrive.

More than fifty attractions in Longwan Pool Forest Park have been developed or are under development, including seven first-class attractions such as Seven-Tiered Waterfall and Five-Connected Waterfalls, second-class attractions such as Camel Peak, Three-Bend Waterfall, Stone Pillar Rock, Peacock Worshipping the Immortal, and Stone Wall, as well as numerous third-class attractions, all clustered together. The park’s sky platform, China’s first kilometer-long cliffside plank walk and aerial glass viewing platform newly built within a national park, are truly unprecedented in China. Standing over 300 meters high with nothing but transparent glass beneath your feet, you’ll experience heart-pounding thrills while enjoying the breathtaking panoramic view of Longwan Pool.

Bizarre peaks and rocks, cascading waterfalls and crystal-clear pools can be seen everywhere. The area features rugged mountains, layered ridges, competing streams, and scenery that changes with the seasons. From sunny mornings to rainy evenings, the ever-changing atmosphere combines both living and non-living natural landscapes into vibrant and dynamic landscape paintings.

The world’s unique “Seven-Tiered Waterfall” is located on the back of Longwan Pool, where seven pools and seven waterfalls are connected, presenting a spectacular view of cascading falls and emerald pools. The waterfalls and pools are arranged in an orderly fashion, resembling a troop of white horses and silver-armored cavalry charging down the mountain with fluttering flags and loud roars. The first waterfall shows only a splash of water, with the pool resembling a half-open phoenix eye. The second waterfall resembles a black dragon emerging from a stone cave, winding downstream and kicking up a mist that looks like a ladle. The third waterfall is thin on the left and thick on the right, with the two streams merging to resemble a large jar. The fourth waterfall is like a soaring dragon dashing through a gorge, thundering down with a brilliance like sapphire. The fifth waterfall is broad and open, shaped like a silver pipa. The sixth waterfall slants downward along a stone channel, gracefully twisting like a carp. The seventh waterfall has a drop of about 50 meters, powerful and overwhelming, with a roar that shakes the mountains.

Below it lies the Lower Great Drainage Dragon Pool, which is roughly crescent-shaped. The stone walls around the pool are smooth and flat. Sitting by the pool, you’ll feel the waterfall breeze brush against your face, bringing a refreshing coolness all over. The pool is surrounded by high stone walls on three sides, resembling a natural tent, hence called the Cloth Tent Rock. Midway up the Cloth Tent Rock, a jet of spring water sprays out into the air, flowing all year round. About 2 meters beneath the surface of the Lower Great Drainage Dragon Pool lies a mysterious stone cave of unfathomable depth, known as the Dragon Palace. To the right is the steep Qilin Peak. On the left side of Longwan Pool stands a solitary rock pillar, resembling a towering pillar holding up the sky. The square-shaped pillar is 6 meters wide and over 70 meters tall, making it the uniquely magnificent “Heavenly Pillar Rock.”
