Water Nymph Cave

Beneath Stone Mast Rock lies a deep pool. Take a boat to reach it, cross a small wooden bridge, and climb up about twenty steps via a ladder to see a natural cave named Water Nymph Cave.

The cave is about 10 meters deep, 6 meters wide, and 8 meters high, accommodating around 30 people sitting comfortably. Inside the cave is a stone mortar, and from the cliff above, spring water seeps out and drips precisely into the mortar. Cup the spring water in your hands and taste it, and you’ll find it cool, refreshing, and especially sweet.

Water Nymph Cave gets its name from the worship of the Water Nymph Maiden. Legend has it that the Water Nymph was a young girl who often made and distributed herbal medicine to cure the illnesses of poor people during her lifetime, thus earning their deep affection. After she passed away, the locals built this cave in her memory and named it “Water Nymph Cave.”

Standing at the entrance of Water Nymph Cave and looking across, you’ll see uniquely shaped peaks and rocks vying with one another, all seemingly rushing forward to greet you. Among them are two standalone stone peaks called "Qilin Delivering a Child," which are tall, graceful, exquisitely shaped, and truly spectacular.
