Tengxi Waterfall Group

The Tengxi Waterfall Group is located in the remote mountain valleys south of Tengxi Village, Bilian Town. It features multiple sets of marvelous waterfalls and pools, each with a unique form, creating naturally stunning scenery.

Daluo Waterfall: Located in the Xikeng Valley. About 40 meters high, the top of the waterfall features a steep cliff resembling a heavenly gate. A large rock in the middle splits the waterfall into two streams, which collide mid-fall against the cliff, scattering into thousands of droplets, producing a sound like the striking of a gong.

Dagu Pool: Adjacent to Daluo Waterfall. The pool spans about half an acre, with steep and precipitous walls surrounded by dense shrubs. The waterfall cascades down like a silver pillar from an 18-meter-high U-shaped gap into the emerald-green pool. The thunderous roar resembles muffled thunder or the beat of a drum.

Wulong Pool: Features three waterfalls and three pools that connect seamlessly, each uniquely and spectacularly formed. The lower pool is emerald green, appearing bottomless, with surrounding cliffs rising like walls. The pool resembles a massive stone water tank, with the waterfall dropping 15 meters and splitting into several streams that cascade down the rocky walls into the pool. The middle pool is 7 meters deep with a 10-meter-high waterfall; the reflection of the falls shimmers in the water like a white dragon gliding through the sky. The upper pool is also deep emerald and bottomless, with a waterfall around 2 meters high that surges forth from a steep cliff and plunges into the pool.

Five-Star Marvel Pools: Five waterfalls and five pools arranged in a well-spaced layout, each pool looking like a vat hollowed out on a flat stone bed.

Lian’gang Pool: Located about 1 kilometer upstream from the Five-Star Marvel Pools. Features six waterfalls and six pools, one after the other along the stream valley. All have stone beds with smooth, flat pool walls, resembling a row of connected vats. The second pool has steep walls and deep azure water, with a 6-meter-high waterfall that is half clinging to the wall and half suspended. Jiluo Waterfall: Resembles scissors leaping to strike the rocks, producing a crisp sound like a gong, echoing the “Daluo Waterfall” from afar.

Transportation

Take a bus heading to Bilian and get off at Tengxi, then walk or take a farm tricycle to the site. Alternatively, start from Taogong Cave, cross the Xiao’nanyang River at Tongzhou, and walk for about an hour to reach Tengxi. There are many waterfalls along the stream.
