Wangxiong Pavilion

On the southern rampart of Cangpo Village stands Wangxiong Pavilion, which faces Songdi Pavilion in Fang’ao Village to the south. A touching tale of deep brotherly affection is passed down here about Li Jiamu and Li Qiushan, the seventh-generation ancestors of the Li family.

Wangxiong Pavilion, together with the Renji Temple, the Grand Ancestral Hall, and the Chezuo to its west, forms an important public hub of Cangpo Village. It also creates a lively and dynamic skyline for the village, along with the ancient cypresses on the ramparts—whose iron-like branches and dense, umbrella-like canopies...

Story: During the Southern Song Dynasty, there were two brothers in Cangpo Village from the Li family, whose bond was exceptionally close. Later, when the elder brother moved to Fang’ao Village, they continued to visit each other frequently. The elder brother built “Songdi Pavilion” to watch for his younger brother’s return, while the younger brother constructed “Wangxiong Pavilion” to ease his longing for his elder brother.
