Lion Rock is located in the front pond of Xiari Chuan Village, Yantou Town. Viewed from the shore, it resembles a lion playing with a ball, making it a natural bonsai in the Nanxi River. During the day, the graceful silhouette of Lion Rock is reflected in the mirror-like pond, displaying both majestic and delicate postures, captivating countless photography enthusiasts from around the world; at night, with the bright moon overhead, fleets of bamboo rafts drift by, cormorants catch fish in the stream, fishing lights dot the river surface, illuminating the water, while the shimmering lights beneath the green waves create an illusory underwater world. Usually, ducks can be seen in the pond searching for fish and shrimp, rippling the sparkling surface and gently wrinkling the expanse of green water, causing the charming silhouette of the lion to appear blurred. During the rainy season, when mountain torrents rage from upstream, with turbulent waves and muddy waters surging skyward, all living things in the stream vanish, leaving only Lion Rock standing firmly like a pillar in the midstream — truly a case of “carved by wind and rain over eons, a giant lion emerges naturally.”
