Tomb of Pan Xisheng

The Tomb of Pan Xisheng is a cultural relic protection unit of Yongjia County.

The Tomb of Pan Xisheng is located at the foot of Wulei Mountain in Kesiwan Village, Shangtang Town, Yongjia County. Built during the Southern Song Dynasty, it covers an area of 284 square meters. Oriented south-facing and north-backing, the tomb is shaped like an armchair and consists of two tiers — upper and lower. The armchair-shaped enclosure and the tomb mound are built with block stones, while the ground of the lower tier is paved with triangular block stones. The walls and burial chamber are surfaced with diamond-shaped block stones. A tomb stele is embedded in the rear enclosing wall of the burial chamber, featuring an ancient and rustic design. Pan Xisheng (1228–1281), styled Yangmeng and also known as Xingshan, was a successful candidate in the imperial examination (jinshi) in the fourth year of the Baoyou era (1256) of the Southern Song Dynasty. He was initially appointed as the chief clerk of Changshan County and later promoted to Vice Minister of the Ministry of Revenue. He once assisted Chen Yizhong in killing Han Zhen, a treacherous official who had misled the nation and was a follower of Jia Sidao. He passed away not long after.

In 1994, the Tomb of Pan Xisheng was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit of Yongjia County.

Beicheng Subdistrict: Beicheng Subdistrict is situated in the northern part of Yongjia County, on the west bank of the Nanxi River. A central mountain range divides the subdistrict into two areas — southern and northern mountainous zones. The Xiaoliao Stream in the south flows northward into the Nanxi River, while the southern region consists of valley lowlands. The Lukou Stream originates from Shigujian in the north and flows southward before joining the Nanxi River at Pudongzhu. The subdistrict borders Shatou Town to the east, Dongcheng Subdistrict and Xiacheng Subdistrict to the south, Qiaoxia Town to the west, and Daruoyan Town to the north. It covers a total area of approximately 66.2 square kilometers, with a population of 34,487 and green space spanning 145,865 square meters. The subdistrict office is located at No. 123, Jianing Street, in the county town.
