Jiuxi Longmen Scenic Area

Jiuxi Longmen Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Jiuxi Longmen Scenic Area is located in Longmen Village, Qixi Town, Kaihua County, covering four natural villages: Wangjia, Yujia, Damaiwu, and Waishan, with a total area of 14.14 square kilometers. It is a national AAA-level scenic area.

Renowned as the “Taiji Village of Jiuxi Longmen, the Golden Earth Buildings of the South of the Yangtze River,” Jiuxi Longmen Scenic Area is situated at the source of the Qiantang River, the mother river of Zhejiang, on the border between Zhejiang and Anhui provinces. It gets its name from the nine uniquely shaped streams of excellent water quality that converge into a hundred-foot-deep pool in the northwest of the village. Towering cliffs stand on either side of the deep pool, resembling a grand dragon gate — hence the name “Jiuxi Longmen,” which symbolizes the auspicious leap of a carp over the dragon gate. With a forest coverage rate of 93.5%, the area enjoys fresh air year-round, and the oxygen ion concentration reaches up to 20,000 per cubic centimeter. The scenic area boasts abundant tourism resources, with key attractions including rustic farm-style guesthouses, Yue State Ancestral Hall, Mingfeng Hall, Taohua Valley, Laolongyuan, and the ancient Waishan Village. The mountains, like graceful dark eyebrows, layer upon layer, together with the blue sky and clear waters, forming serene and beautiful rural landscapes.
