Jishu Hall (Wang Ancestral Hall)

Jishu Hall (Wang Ancestral Hall) is a cultural heritage site protected at the county level in Kaihua County.

Jishu Hall, also known as Wang Ancestral Hall, is located in Shizhu Village, Majin Town. It is a Qing Dynasty structure and was designated as part of the fourth batch of county-level cultural heritage protection units. The building faces east and consists of three sections: a stage, a hall, and the main ancestral hall, covering an area of approximately 450 square meters. The second section has five bays with a total width of 14.2 meters and a depth of 6 meters. The central bay features a five-rafter post-and-lintel construction, with brackets (dougong) carved with scenes from traditional stories. The third section is elevated 0.8 meters above ground level, with a similar beam structure to the second, and its spandrels are in a T-shape. The entire structure is built with river pebble walls and features a traditional clay-mortar floor.

Majin Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Kaihua County. It was established as Majin Township in 1950, reorganized as a commune in 1958, restored as a township in 1983, and upgraded to a town in 1985. Located in the northern part of the county on the eastern bank of the Majin Stream, it is 17.6 kilometers from the county center. Covering an area of 94 square kilometers, it has a population of 22,000. National Highway 205 and the Quzhou–Chun’an Road pass through the town.
