Egret Island

About 18 kilometers southeast of Quzhou City lies a village called Hengxi Village. The scenery here boasts fresh air, pleasant landscapes, and towering ancient trees. In front of the village lies a river beach spanning hundreds of acres, with mountains covered in dense forests through which sunlight filters gently, while clear streams trickle through the woods. Behind the village stand centuries-old pines and millennium-old camphor and maple trees. This area is home to tens of thousands of egrets as well as precious bird species such as thrushes, kingfishers, orioles, owls, and woodpeckers, hence its name—Egret Island.
