Lingshan Qingqing World is situated at the center of Anji’s scenic tourism area, only 5 kilometers from the county town, with convenient transportation. Spanning over 300 hectares, it is the centerpiece of the 50-square-kilometer Lingshan Mountain tourism and leisure development zone planned by the Anji County People's Government.

Nestled against Lingshan Mountain, Lingshan Qingqing World features five overlapping peaks, stunning scenery, and an otherworldly charm. The area is home to primeval broadleaf forests with towering ancient trees. Its unique natural beauty and Buddhist heritage have attracted emperors throughout history. Qian Yu, the King of Wuyue, visited Lingshan Mountain twice and bestowed a plaque inscribed with “Lingfeng Ever Prosperous” to honor the mountain. Emperor Yingzong of the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhao Shu, personally traveled to Lingshan Mountain and granted an imperial jade seal to bless the site.

The thousand-year-old Lingshan Temple, built in the first year of the Kaiping era (907 AD) during the Later Liang Dynasty, has a long history and profound Buddhist cultural influence. Despite enduring several hardships over the centuries, the temple remains a place of active worship, drawing pilgrims in great numbers.

As a primeval broadleaf forest and a park themed around traditional Chinese culture, Lingshan Qingqing World combines pristine ecology, expansive bamboo seas, and Buddhist heritage, showcasing its unique charm to the world. It attracts thousands of visitors daily who come to embrace the essence of “returning to simplicity and nature,” enjoying the gifts of the natural world. Qingqing World has become a wellness destination in the Yangtze River Delta, where urban dwellers rejuvenate their mind and body and seek blessings and prosperity.

Lingshan Primeval Broadleaf Forest

This expanse of broadleaf forest is lush and magnificent, home to 231 species of woody plants across 64 families, earning it the title of a “natural plant museum.” Rare plants such as Anji’s oldest ginkgo, oldest pine, and largest crape myrtle all thrive here. With ancient trees towering above and a serene ecosystem, this forest is a rare sanctuary gifted by nature to the Yangtze River Delta region. Botanists refer to this primeval broadleaf forest at 30.35°N latitude as a “miracle of nature.”

Lingshan Bamboo Sea

“Fifty miles of hills and fields, half covered with tall bamboos”—the primeval broadleaf forest is surrounded by thousands of acres of Lingshan Bamboo Sea. Peaks rise and fall, and elegant bamboo stands densely everywhere. Legend has it that the mountain god of Lingshan—the Dragon King who protects the mountain—dwells within. Stepping into the bamboo sea feels like entering a vast green ocean, breathing in fresh air, listening to birds singing, and feeling refreshed and carefree.

Thousand-Year-Old Ancient Temple — Lingshan Temple

With a history of 1,100 years, Lingshan Temple is often referred to as the “sister temple” of Hangzhou’s Lingyin Temple. Since its founding in 907 AD during the first year of the Kaiping era of the Later Liang Dynasty by Monk Yilin, the temple has produced many eminent monks over the dynasties. Notable figures include Zhongxian of the Song Dynasty, Ruyue and Dongzhuo of the Yuan Dynasty, Langxing, Shie, and Yunyi of the Ming Dynasty, and Canghui and Dinyin of the Qing Dynasty. Among them, Master Yunyi of the Ming Dynasty is the most renowned. As one of the Four Great Monks of the Ming Dynasty, Yunyi was the Ninth Patriarch of the Pure Land Sect and the Thirty-first Patriarch of the Tiantai Sect, holding a lofty and irreplaceable status in Buddhist history.
