Longgu Dongtian has long been known as the "Little Three Gorges." Legend has it that in ancient times, it was an important trade route in the Jiangnan region and a key passageway connecting the eastern and western Tianmu Mountains, making it a strategic military location throughout history. With its dense forests, crystal-clear springs, enchanting waterfalls, and beautiful pools, Longgu Dongtian is truly a world of water, a world of waterfalls, a paradise of love, and a destination for leisure.

Legend has it that during the Tang Dynasty, one day hundreds of martial arts masters gathered at the “Dragon Pool Waterfall” in Longgu Dongtian to practice their skills. Suddenly, a beautiful young girl accidentally slipped and fell from high above the waterfall while chopping wood with her father on the mountain. One of the gallant martial artists, a graceful and noble gentleman, swiftly leapt up to save her, sparing her from disaster. Later, many warriors acted as matchmakers, and the woman accepted his proposal. The warriors then gathered by the Dragon Pool to drink and sing in celebration of their happy union. It is said the couple lived a loving and blissful life, often bathing together in the second pool, which later came to be known as the “Mandarin Duck Pool.” As a result, Longgu Dongtian is also referred to as the “Valley of Love” and the “Waterfall of the Dragon.”

With steep mountains, dense forests, clear streams and green hills, plank walkways, small bridges over flowing water, cascading waterfalls, and layered springs, Longgu Dongtian is a natural oxygen bar and one of the best summer retreats.
