With May Day approaching, Gaochun tourism has gained a new attraction — Gaochun Ceramics Co., Ltd. Earlier this year, it was officially designated as a “National Industrial Tourism Demonstration Site” by the China National Tourism Administration. The newly built “Ceramics Art Garden” in the factory area, designed in the style of the Jiangnan water town, will also open to the public soon. Visitors to “Gaochun Ceramics” can not only observe the entire production process of products such as stoneware, bone china, and high-tech ceramics, but also try their hand at pottery making.

It is reported that “Gaochun Ceramics” is the first national-level industrial tourism demonstration site in Gaochun, and one of the few well-established industrial tourism destinations in the city. Its flagship product, the “Yuquan” brand stoneware tableware, has been exported to over 100 countries and regions around the world, with cumulative sales exceeding 1 billion pieces, enjoying a high level of international recognition. As a tourist attraction, “Gaochun Ceramics” will offer visitors a complete look at the full production process of stoneware tableware and other products — from raw material processing, molding, glazing, decal application, hand painting, to firing.

According to officials from the Gaochun County Tourism Bureau, thanks to the industrial tourism boom sparked by “Gaochun Ceramics,” the county’s tourism industry is also set to experience a small “upsurge.” By the end of April, a “tourism shuttle bus” from downtown Nanjing to Gaochun will be launched. At attractions such as Yinlin Ecological Park, traditional agritourism has also been given new content — here, visitors can adopt farmland, freely plant seasonal vegetables, and return later to harvest the crops.
