Jiangning Zhushan Cultural and Leisure Park

Jiangning Zhushan Cultural and Leisure Park is located on Zhushan Road in Jiangning District, Nanjing, covering an area of 52,634.25 square meters. The park is a mountainous park primarily centered around the natural terrain of Zhushan Hill, supplemented by the riverside leisure green space along Waigang River. From the foot to the summit, the park features diverse scenic spots. At the base of the hill is a waterside platform, halfway up the hill, an existing depression has been transformed into a music plaza, and at the summit, a viewing platform of nearly 300 square meters has been created for visitors to enjoy the morning light over Zhushan.

Since October 2009, Jiangning District has initiated the landscape renovation of Zhushan Cultural and Leisure Park. The renovated park consists of the natural terrain of Zhushan Hill and the riverside leisure green space along Waigang River. Built upon the original hilltop topography, it features a 200-meter-long waterside platform, wooden boardwalks, and landscaped embankments along Waigang River at the foot of the hill; at the hillside, an existing depression has been turned into a music plaza of nearly 200 square meters; and at the summit, the terrain has been adapted to form a recreational plaza of approximately 400 square meters, complete with pavilions, corridors, and flower beds. To the south of the plaza, a 700-square-meter area has been developed with preserved wood hiking trails and leisure platforms.

Additionally, a circular fitness trail has been built around Zhushan Hill to serve residents’ exercise needs, and four uniquely designed hiking paths have been newly constructed to accommodate both recreational hiking and forest fire prevention. The redesigned Zhushan Cultural and Leisure Park organically integrates ecological conservation with cultural heritage, combining functions such as culture, leisure, entertainment, and education. The completion of the park provides urban residents with a new venue for recreation and fitness, while also further enhancing the image and cultural appeal of Dongshan New Urban District.
