The Panlong Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area in Nanjing is built around Zhao Village Reservoir, set against the natural landscape of Hengshan Mountain and Hengxi River, and enriched with historical elements such as Wu culture and anti-Japanese war relics. It is a comprehensive water conservancy scenic area. The site not only boasts beautiful scenery, abundant natural resources, and a sound ecological environment, but also benefits from convenient transportation and well-equipped facilities, offering a high-quality leisure experience.

The Panlong Lake Scenic Area is located in the southeastern suburbs of Nanjing, approximately 31 kilometers from downtown Nanjing. It borders Lukou International Airport to the east, and the surrounding area has a modern and fast-developing transportation network, providing essential conditions for attracting visitors. The area lies within a low mountain and hilly region, featuring dense rivers and lakes, continuous woodlands, and a harmonious blend of lake and mountain views that are truly refreshing. The water quality is high, biological resources are abundant, with a rich diversity of species, lush forests, and teeming fish and shrimp in the rivers and lakes, along with many rare plants.

The main body of the scenic area—Zhao Village Reservoir—has water quality that meets Class III standards, and the surrounding mountains retain a relatively well-preserved natural ecological environment. The natural vegetation is intact, creating unique and picturesque landscapes that offer urban visitors a peaceful environment for relaxation and rejuvenation. The Qinhuai River basin, to which the scenic area belongs, is the cradle of Nanjing’s ancient civilization and growth, leaving behind numerous valuable historical and cultural heritages.

The southern part of the Panlong Lake Scenic Area was once one of the bases of the New Fourth Army, and the former site of the New Fourth Army headquarters still remains. The local folk culture also adds vibrant content to the scenic area.

Transit Routes: Take buses such as the An-Dan Line or Jin-Dan Line in Jiangning and get off at Hengxi, then transfer to a bus to reach Zhao Village Reservoir.
