Nanjing Suoshi Village Ecological Park

Suoshi Village is located at the foot of Yangshan Mountain and got its name due to its connection with the "No.1 Tablet under Heaven" (Yangshan Stele), which is just 1 kilometer away. The village boasts abundant eco-tourism resources. It is recognized as a National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site and a National AA-level Tourist Attraction. Nowadays, Suoshi has not only become a new trend for urban dwellers seeking rural experiences, but also a new growth point attracting visitors from all over the country.

Suoshi Village has acquired 1,150 mu of land through land transfer from local farmers and invested over 16 million yuan to uniformly plan and reorganize the land, build roads and water systems, and construct steel-frame vegetable greenhouses, solar greenhouses, and multi-span steel-frame greenhouses. These facilities are then leased back to farmers for cultivation. The area now features a 1,150-mu facility agriculture zone, including 750 mu for vegetables, 120 mu for strawberries, 130 mu for flowers, and 150 mu for various edible fungi. The entire agricultural demonstration park has achieved automated irrigation, diversified planting, and an overall landscaped environment, with an average net income of 11,000 yuan per mu. In addition, the village has built “apartments” for large-scale dairy farmers, housing 400 dairy cows, all of which are milked using mechanical milking machines. A further 1.2 million yuan was invested in a new production line for the harmless treatment of cow manure. The resulting biogas slurry and residue are used to improve soil quality and enhance product quality in the agricultural park. The biogas is used for villagers’ daily life needs, achieving two benefits in one action.
