Liangtai Site

The Liangtai Site is a protected cultural heritage site of Jiangsu Province.

The Liangtai Site is located on the north bank of the Jurong River in Hushu Subdistrict, Jiangning District, Nanjing. It was discovered during an archaeological survey conducted by the Nanjing Museum in 1951. The site is shaped like a platform and is said to have once housed the study hall of Xiao Tong, the Crown Prince Zhaoming of the Liang Dynasty, hence its name. The existing site features thick cultural layers and a rich array of artifacts.

Hushu Subdistrict: Known as the “Little Nanjing,” Hushu Town is located in the southeastern part of Jiangning District, Nanjing, at the junction of Jiangning, Jurong, and Lishui districts (or counties/cities). Following administrative adjustments, the new Hushu Town was formed by merging the former Hushu, Longdu, and Zhougang areas, covering a total area of 145 square kilometers. It administers 12 administrative villages and 10 communities, with a population of 80,200. In recent years, the town has adhered to the principles of serving residents conveniently, accelerating regional economic development, focusing on economic growth, and using the industrial concentration zone as a platform.
