Yongyue Youfang Bridge

Yongyue Youfang Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Nanjing City.

Yongyue Youfang Bridge is located in Danyang Town, Jiangning District, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

Youfang Bridge is located in Yongyue Youfang Bridge Village, Danyang Town, Jiangning District. The original construction date of the bridge is unknown. The current bridge is a single-arch bluestone bridge rebuilt in the 6th year of the Republic of China (1918) and remains largely intact. It runs from north to south, with a total length of 19.4 meters, a width of 5.8 meters, and an arch span of 8 meters. The stone railings of the bridge’s pillars retain only one stone lion. The river water is clear and remains unfrozen year-round. Within the wall of a house located 20 meters north of the bridge, four stone steles are embedded: the “Ancient Meian Pavilion” Stele carved in the 8th year of the Yongzheng reign, the “Reconstruction of Youfang Bridge Stele Inscription” carved in the 24th year of the Qianlong reign, the “Yongzheng Jiazi Collected Music Inscription Stele” also from the Qianlong era, and the “Reconstruction of Youfang Bridge Stele Inscription” from the 6th year of the Republic of China. All are well-preserved, with the regular script inscriptions clearly legible. The bases of three of the steles are partially buried in soil, making some text illegible.
