Tongnan Bridge

Tongnan Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Nanjing City.

Tongnan Bridge is located in Zhongjia Natural Village, Xiahui Temple Community, Guli Subdistrict, Jiangning District, Nanjing City. Also known as Tongnan Bridge, it was first built in the 31st year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1905) and spans the Dahe River. The Dahe River flows eastward into the Yuntai Mountain River.

Tongnan Bridge is 15.3 meters long, 4 meters wide, has a rise of 4 meters, a clear span of 5 meters, and a foundation about 4 meters long. It is a single-arch stone bridge oriented from north to south. The bridge employs the method of continuous vertical joint arches and features a beautifully shaped double-layered stone slab arch. The main structure is built with locally sourced sandstone and limestone. Parts of the bridge deck and railings have been damaged, but the arch remains well-preserved. In recent years, the bridge deck and railings have been restored.

In March 2012, Tongnan Bridge in Zhongjia Village was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Nanjing City.
