The Yuntai Mountain New Fourth Army Anti-Japanese Martyrs' Tomb is a cultural relic protection unit of Nanjing.

The Yuntai Mountain Martyrs' Cemetery is located on the slopes of Guantang Hill at the southeastern foot of Yuntai Mountain in Hengxi Subdistrict, Jiangning District, covering an area of over 10,000 square meters. It is the largest patriotic education base in Jiangning District. The cemetery is the final resting place of 87 (65 according to the plaque of Nanjing's significant modern historical buildings) New Fourth Army martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Anti-Japanese War. Every year, a large number of government agencies, public institutions, social organizations, and primary and secondary school students come here to pay their respects and sweep the tombs.

The memorial tower is 16.5 meters high and 5.4 meters wide. The front of the tower is engraved with the gold-plated inscription “Eternal Glory to the Anti-Japanese Martyrs of Yuntai Mountain.” In front of the tower is a spacious marble platform, beneath which stands a grand three-gate memorial archway (15.8 meters wide and 8 meters high). The cemetery also houses an exhibition hall. The hall is divided into five sections—“The Iron Army of Resistance,” “Advancing into the Southeast,” “The Flames of War in Jiangning,” “Heroic Spirits Live On,” and “Deep Remembrance”—displaying the moving stories and heroic figures of the War of Resistance against Japan in the Jiangning region.

The majestic Yuntai Mountain lies to the northwest of Hengshan and southwest of Jiangning District, bordered by Lulangqiao in Jiangning Subdistrict to the northwest and Hengxi Town to the southeast, approximately 36 kilometers from downtown Nanjing. At the eastern foot of Yuntai Mountain stands the solemn Yuntai Mountain Anti-Japanese Martyrs' Tomb. Covering an area of 1,600 square meters, the cemetery houses the remains of 65 martyrs, including Qiu Lisheng, commander of the Third Battalion of the Second Regiment of the New Fourth Army, and Wang Rongchun, the political instructor. A 16-meter-high memorial tower shines with a red star, inscribed with the words: “Eternal Glory to the Anti-Japanese Martyrs of Yuntai Mountain.” Pine and cypress trees are planted around the memorial tower and cemetery, creating a solemn and respectful atmosphere. Every inch of the land and stone at Yuntai Mountain Martyrs' Cemetery bears witness to the tragic yet heroic history of the martyrs’ fierce battles.

The newly established Hengxi Town was formed by merging the former Hengxi, Danyang, and Taowu towns, with the town government located at the former Hengxi Town site. The town enjoys convenient transportation, featuring the Fengyun Railway Special Line, as well as access roads such as Jiangjun South Road and Ningdan Road leading directly to Nanjing.
