The former residence of Lu Dingyi is a cultural relics protection unit at the provincial level in Jiangsu Province.

Located at No. 28 Xihetou, Wuxi City, it is an architectural structure from the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican period, featuring three courtyards with dozens of rooms in total. The third courtyard is built in a revolving corridor (pavilion) style and includes a backyard garden. Comrade Lu Dingyi was born on June 9, 1906, in Xizhang, Wuxi. Amid the waves of the May Thirtieth Movement in 1925, he resolutely joined the Communist Youth League of China, and in the same year became a member of the Communist Party of China. After 1927, he successively served as Minister of Propaganda for the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Political Department of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army, the Political Department of the Eighth Route Army, and the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, eventually being elected as a Central Committee member at the Party’s 7th National Congress.

Lu Dingyi (1906–1996), a native of Wuxi, Jiangsu. In 1918, he enrolled in the affiliated high school of Jiao Tong University out of admiration for the master of Chinese studies Tang Wenqi, advanced to the Electrical Engineering Department of Jiao Tong University in 1922, and graduated in 1926. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, he held positions such as Minister of Propaganda of the CPC Central Committee, Alternate Member of the Politburo, Vice Premier of the State Council, and Minister of Culture.
