Wuxi Science and Technology Museum

The Wuxi Science and Technology Museum serves as a base for science education.

The Wuxi Science and Technology Museum is located in the eastern section of the Wuxi Museum. It is the largest comprehensive science education facility in Wuxi, with a total exhibition area of nearly 7,600 square meters and a total investment of 80 million yuan. The museum is designed based on the local characteristics of Wuxi and is presented through a storyline approach. It is divided into four major thematic exhibition areas: “Taihu Lake and Wuxi,” “Science and Life,” “Science and Exploration,” and “Science and Wuxi.” Additionally, a new “Integrated Circuit Experience Hall” has been added to reflect the development of Wuxi’s integrated circuit industry technology.

Integrated Circuit Experience Hall: Leveraging Wuxi’s advantages in integrated circuit R&D and production, as well as technical support, this hall opens a window for the public to explore the mysteries of integrated circuits.

Taihu Lake and Wuxi: The first-floor exhibition “Taihu Lake and Wuxi” interprets the origin of life, the formation and evolution of Taihu Lake through the display of “the beauty of water,” showcasing the unique natural conditions, ecological environment, and Wu-Yue civilization of Taihu Lake. Visitors can learn about the functions and value of Taihu Lake, experience the musical beauty of water, develop reverence for the lake, and join in protecting our “mother lake.”

Science and Life: The second-floor “Science and Life” exhibition area allows visitors to experience firsthand how science influences and changes our work and lifestyle through three themes: “Healthy Living,” “Green Living,” and “Digital Living.” It promotes eco-friendly concepts such as zero-waste living. Visitors can also undergo various tests related to physiology, psychology, health, and nutrition, and take home their own personally signed “Green Commemorative Coin.”

Science and Exploration: The third-floor “Science and Exploration” exhibition area takes you on a journey to uncover the mysteries of cutting-edge technologies such as new materials, new energy, genetically modified organisms, and aerospace technology. Visitors can personally experience unbreakable ceramics, memory alloy flowers, and the wonders of a magic mirror. They can also sit in a spaceship and feel the thrill of space docking.

Science and Wuxi: The fourth-floor “Science and Wuxi” exhibition area focuses on notable figures from Wuxi and the city’s industries, showcasing Wuxi’s scientific and technological innovations. Visitors can learn about the lives and achievements of 91 academicians of Wuxi origin, even take a “photo” alongside living academicians to become a “future star.” They can also experience the magic of film compositing technology and become a “superhero” flying through the clouds in the “My Studio” zone.
