Wuxi Sports Park

Wuxi Sports Park is located at No. 105 Jiankang Road and was formerly known as Wuxi Municipal People’s Stadium. When the stadium was completed by the ancient canal in 1954, it attracted crowds of local residents. After the new Wuxi Sports Center was built, the municipal stadium no longer served training purposes.

In 1999, parts of the municipal stadium were renovated to create a public fitness facility area and a gateball court for seniors. The site was then renamed Wuxi Sports Park, with all venues open to the public. Nearly one million visitors come here each year for exercise and leisure.

Covering a total area of over 110,000 square meters, Wuxi Sports Park features above-ground facilities including a swimming complex, gymnasium, athletic field, football pitch, children’s play area, gateball court, tennis courts, and fitness equipment zones. The underground section spans more than 20,000 square meters, mainly housing parking facilities. One of the park’s defining features is its expansive green space, with a 44.5% green coverage rate, designed to meet the recreational and fitness needs of residents.

Transportation: Take bus routes 3, 31, 40, 51, 68, 86, or 133 and get off at Sports Park Station; or take bus routes 5, 23, 70, 96, 118, or 135 and get off at Zhenxin Road Station.
