Xuzhou is one of the areas in China with the highest concentration of Han Dynasty stone carvings. The Xuzhou Han Dynasty Stone Carving Art Museum is a specialized museum dedicated to the collection, display, and research of Han Dynasty stone carvings. Covering an area of 10,000 square meters, it houses over 350 treasured Han Dynasty stone carvings. The museum plaque was inscribed by the contemporary art master Li Keran and it officially opened to the public on October 1, 1989.

The stone carvings from the Han Dynasty in Xuzhou feature powerful and vigorous carving techniques, with simple and unadorned artistic styles, making them highly valuable for artistic appreciation. The carving methods include two types: line engraving and bas-relief. The line engravings are delicate and vivid, showcasing a gentle and graceful beauty, while the reliefs are bold and vigorous, radiating a masculine grandeur.
