The Water Sleeve Sky Bridge integrates complex urban functions and spatial structures through simple yet elegant municipal elements. Located on Xuning Road in Suining County, Jiangsu Province, the bridge spans a rapid transit route and multiple water systems that cut across the city, connecting the central square of the county town with the forest park across the street. The main bridge is 635 meters long, with a total construction length of 869 meters and a total area of 2,700 square meters. The four auxiliary bridges have a combined length of 242 meters, with widths ranging from 2.5 to 9 meters, and slopes between 0.4% and 12.6%. The clearance height over the road surface is guaranteed to be at least 4.5 meters.

The Water Sleeve Sky Bridge was originally built to enhance the connection between Hehe Square and Forest Square, reintegrating two major urban open spaces that had been divided by the rapid transit route—Xuning Road. It avoids conflicts between vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the same level, ensuring safe crossings. While meeting functional needs, the design closely follows the overarching theme of “water,” drawing inspiration from the graceful and fluid form of dancing water sleeves. It undulates elegantly in three-dimensional space, creating a flowing, cloud-like aesthetic. Additionally, the carefully designed lighting allows this flowing water sleeve to dance more freely and gracefully above the city square, water bodies, and wooded areas.
