"A winding path leads to a secluded spot, where wildflowers and trees grow deep in the countryside." The Huayi Sluice in Xuzhou was built in 1955, designed by Soviet experts who personally supervised the construction. It was once a water conservancy project that served irrigation, flood discharge, and water transport functions. From the mid-1950s to the 1960s, the Huayi Sluice dock was bustling with activity and flourished for a time, effectively easing transportation and grain trade between southern Shandong and northern Jiangsu. To this day, iron rings used for mooring boats can still be found on the stone walls of the sluice. Elevated and majestic, it commands an imposing presence.

Xuzhou Yulin Resort Scenic Area is located at the border of Xinyi and Pizhou cities in Xuzhou, where the old and new Yihe Rivers diverge and flow southward. The Xin-Pi Highway runs through the area, with the Longhai Railway, Xuzhou-Lianyungang First-Class Highway, and Lianyungang-Huoerguosi Expressway to the south, the Lin-Su Highway to the east, and the Piciang Highway to the west. Buses from both Xinyi and Pizhou cities converge here, giving it a relatively advantageous geographical location. Surrounded by water on all sides and shaded by green trees, Huayi Sluice enjoys a pleasant environment. It encompasses over 700 acres of land and water resources, which have now been transformed into forests of ginkgo, chestnut, and peach trees. The scenic area features the elegant and unique Yulin Resort, Ginkgo Garden Grand Hotel, Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, Xue Rengui Memorial Pavilion, Lianxin Bridge, Reed Marsh, and Sika Deer Breeding Base. In recent years, it has welcomed tens of thousands of visitors. With its distinctive features, it has become a popular leisure and vacation destination for locals in Xuzhou.
