Shagou Lake Metasequoia Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Shagou Lake Metasequoia Park is located on the west side of Yangzhou Road in Pizhou City, bordered by Changjiang Road to the south and Xingguo Road to the north, covering a total area of over 4,000 acres. The park features nearly 3,000 acres of green space, with dozens of varieties of economic fruit trees planted throughout. Within the park, there are numerous scenic spots and service facilities, including the Longxin Pavilion, the new main gate, the Jade Belt Bridge, pavilions, waterfront platforms, winding corridors, an amusement park, and a fishing center. The four main gates and the pavilions, towers, and corridors throughout the park are designed in a predominantly neo-classical style, featuring simple and robust forms that reflect the grand and elegant beauty of Han Dynasty architecture. The northern gate, shaped like a que (a traditional ornamental gateway), stands 28.95 meters tall and has been hailed by Liu Qingzhu, director of the Institute of Archaeology at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, as the “No. 1 Que in the World.” At the heart of the park stands the 78-meter-tall Longxin Pavilion, which resembles the imperial structures used by Han emperors to issue edicts, receive homage, and conduct sacrifices to heaven, earth, and ancestors. Its majestic and spectacular presence is truly breathtaking. Visitors often find themselves moved to exclaim: “Upon ascending this tower, one’s spirit is lifted, worldly accolades and disgraces are forgotten, and with wine in hand facing the breeze, boundless joy arises.”
